L.A. City Councilman — Justin Bieber Should Have Been Arrested

Justin Bieber just got cited for speeding on the freeway, and the witness who called 911 — who happens to be an L.A. City Councilman — tells TMZ, Bieber should have been cuffed, locked up and stripped of his driving privileges.

Councilman Dennis Zine — who ironically was an LAPD motor officer for 18 years — was on the 101 Freeway when he saw Justin in his chrome Fisker Karma roaring down the freeway at speeds that Zine says exceeded100 mph.

Zine tells us …  Bieber was trying to shake a team of paparazzi (NOT TMZ) that was on his tail.

Zine says, “Bieber was driving like a maniac.  he was weaving in and out of traffic.  There was hardly any space between cars as he weaved from lane to lane.”

Zine says, “If I was on patrol, I would have arrested him for reckless driving.  I was going 60 and he drove by me like he was in a rocket ship.  He was a maniac.”

Zine also says the paparazzi were incredibly irresponsible, driving on the shoulder of the freeway and causing an extreme hazard.  After he was pulled over, at least 4 paps were swarming Bieb’s car (video to come).

Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, tells TMZ, Zine “is just a councilman looking for a headline.”  Braun says Justin was cited for going 80 mph and he was being chased by the paparazzi.  Braun adds a short time after getting ticketed, the paparazzi resumed their pursuit and Justin called 911.

Law enforcement sources tell us … the CHP is investigating the paparazzi for creating a hazardous situation.

Mario Arrested For Allegedly Assaulting His Mom

R&B star was apparently involved in an altercation early Friday morning in Baltimore.

R&B singer Mario was arrested Friday morning (October 1) for allegedly assaulting his mother. He was taken into custody after police came to the Baltimore apartment the singer shares with his mother, Shawntia Hardaway, who said he hit her. According to The Baltimore Sun, he was charged with second-degree assault and released on $50,000 bond.

According to a statement to MTV News from the Baltimore Police Department, police found Hardaway sobbing in the lobby of their apartment on Fell Street around 12:50 a.m. She informed police that her son, born Mario Dewar Barrett, was in their home “throwing and damaging property” and “started yelling at her and he used his hands and forearms and pushed her in the chest and shoulder area causing minor pain and discomfort.” Officers found a smashed mirror and closet door with a hole in it. A china cabinet was also broken and shattered glass covered the floor, the Sun reports.

Hardaway also said Friday’s incident was not the first time her son had assaulted her. She told police that Mario had pushed her “eight feet into a living-room wall, where Ms. Hardaway hit her head on the wall,” on September 27. She “stated her head still hurts because of hitting the wall” and maintained that she feels her life is in danger.

Although no specific cause has been cited for Mario’s behavior, the singer’s lawyer, William “Hassan” Murphy III, referenced Hardaway’s substance-abuse issues in a statement to MTV News.

“This is an unfortunate incident between a loving son and a mother who continues to struggle with a devastating addiction,” Murphy said. “Anyone who has waged the battle to save loved ones from the forces of drugs knows the irrational behavior that almost always accompanies their actions. Despite the allegations, Mario remains committed to supporting his mother.”

Mario has had an admittedly rocky relationship with his mother, which he explored in the 2007 MTV documentary “I Won’t Love You to Death: The Story of Mario and His Mom.” In the film, Mario candidly discusses his complex bond with Hardaway, who battles heroin addiction and had declined treatment and experienced several relapses in the past. Mario, known for hits like “Let Me Love You” and “Break Up,” stages an intervention for Hardaway, during which he pleads, “I want to give you the gift of life, like you gave me.” She ultimately enters a rehab facility in Los Angeles. A Couple In Malawi Facing 10 Years In Prison For Being Gay

A gay couple has been jailed and convicted over what the judge deemed inappropriate and unnatural behavior.

According to reports, Malawian citizens Tiwonge Chimbalanga and Steven Monjeza, who are openly gay men, were arrested after celebrating their engagement with a party at a hotel where Chimbalanga worked.

In court, the judge deemed the act of homosexuality to be inappropriate and convicted the couple for unnatural acts and gross indecency under laws dating from the colonial era. Blantyre Chief Resident Magistrate Nyakwawa Usiwa said the sentencing will take place on Thursday and they could be imprisoned for up to 14 years.

Former NFL Player Warren Sapp arrested for beating a woman…. read on

Former NFL star Warren Sapp was arrested by Miami Beach cops in February 2010 and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery. According to police, the 37-year-old announcer for the NFL Network and former contestant on “Dancing With the Stars” pulled his girlfriend out of the hotel room bed they were sharing and demanded that she leave their room. As she began to get dressed, Sapp allegedly grabbed the woman’s neck and began to choke her before eventually pushing her out of the room. When police arrived they observed bruises on her neck and a swollen right knee. Sapp was taken to the Miami-Dade County jail where he posed for the below mug shot and was held on $1500 bond.

Detroit police arrested and voluntarily tested 24-year-old Jackie Braxton aka the infamous “Trashwoman” who claimed she’d spread HIV/AIDS, syphillis and herpes to over 500 sexual partners in this viral video. Attention Whore Braxton said her results were negative and admitted she made the video to draw visitors

The woman who caused a stir on the Internet this week with a video in which she says she has infected more than 500 people with HIV told The Detroit News today that she does not have the virus.

“I don’t have AIDS,” Jackie Braxton, 23, said in an interview. “I made the tape because I wanted to raise awareness about AIDS.”

Police picked up Braxton at a college she attends downtown and immediately took her to the city’s health department to be tested for the virus that causes AIDS. The test results are confidential, but Braxton said she does not have HIV.

Braxton said she feels “bad” about making the video that has spread panic among Metro Detroiters and others around the country. But, she said she felt her tape served its purpose when she went to the city’s health department this morning and saw people waiting to get tested for AIDS.

Braxton, who uses the stage name “Fame” and has a 5-year-old daughter, admitted she made the videotape to market her own porn site, which she says she operates with her husband.

Braxton also told The Detroit News she makes porn videos with her husband.

Police do not know yet if criminal charges can be levied against Braxton because they don’t know if she has broken any laws. Failure to disclose to a sex partner that you have HIV/AIDS is a felony.

“We are 100-percent positive it was a hoax,” said Deputy Chief James Tolbert.

Smoking gun reports: Gospel singer BeBe Winans was booked yesterday on a domestic assault rap for allegedly pushing his ex-wife to the ground during an argument last month. According to a court filing, a copy of which you’ll find below, Winans, 46, and his former spouse got into a “verbal altercation” on February 13 about “custody issues dealing with their children.” At the time, Winans was at his ex-wife Debra’s Nashville home, where he had driven to pick up his children. “The victim was telling the defendant of issues with the children when he became irate. The defendant then pushed the victim to the ground.” Winans, pictured in the mug shot at right, was arrested yesterday on a misdemeanor domestic assault charge. He was briefly held at the Davidson County jail before posting $1000 bond. Winans, best known for albums recorded with his sister CeCe, has won four Grammy awards.

Luke aka Luther Campbell arrested

Luther Campbell — a member of the 2 Live Crew — was just arrested in Miami-Dade County for contempt of court.

Seems Luther didn’t pay $10,233.36 he owes the court — we’re not sure why he owes it, but now it’s time to pay the piper.

Richardson Busted for Excessive Speeding…also puts his son in danger

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Feb. 16) — Phoenix Suns guard Jason Richardson was arrested in Scottsdale after police said he was driving 55 mph above the limit with his unrestrained 3-year-old son in the car.

A Scottsdale police officer first saw Richardson driving 67 mph in a 40 mph zone Sunday night and followed him, police said Monday. That’s when the officer clocked him at 90 mph in a 35 mph zone and pulled him over.

Police said Richardson admitted to speeding and identified himself as a Suns player. The officer saw Richardson’s son in the back seat of the car and that he was not in a child seat.

Richardson said he had taken his son to dinner and was on his way home.

He was arrested and charges with reckless driving, excessive speeding and failure to use a child seat. He was released from jail after a few hours.

Police said Richardson’s wife responded to the scene of the stop and took custody of the boy. Read the full report

Faizon Arrested For Alleged Nightclub Beatdown

Faizon Love has been booked on one count felony assault for allegedly socking some dude in the face after being rejected from a nightclub.

Law enforcement sources say Love — who played Big Worm in “Friday” — allegedly became enraged after being rejected by a woman at the door of the nightclub inside the Standard Hotel in L.A.

Sources say a shouting match broke out between Faizon and some girls outside the hotel — and Faizon allegedly socked a random dude who was standing next to them.

His bail has been set at $30,000 — he faces up to four years in prison.

UPDATE: Love posted bail and was released around 1pm. We got him taking off in style — in a black limo.

Kelly Osbourne Arrested for Assault

Kelly Osbourne has been arrested for allegedly slapping a journalist in a London nightclub last summer.

The 24-year-old daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne was released on bail as inquiries continue. She is scheduled to return to see authorities in March.READ FULL ARTICLE
