Judge to Usher — Stepson’s Death Will NOT Delay Custody Battle

The judge in the Usher/Tameka Raymond child custody case has refused to postpone the trial because Tameka’s son died — ruling the trial will resume as scheduled later this month.

As TMZ first reported, Usher wanted to have a court date moved back because he was worried that with the recent passing of Tameka’s son … the court hearing would cause “unnecessary stress and strain” for himself, Tameka, and their two minor children.

But Tameka argued Usher was just posturing for the press and his concern was “bogus.” She claimed in court papers Usher “visited Kile in the hospital only once” during his 15 days on life support.

A judge in Fulton County, GA has now ruled, saying the case will go on as planned and Usher will once again take the stand.

The trial will resume on Aug. 13 and is only expected to last a few more days.

Kyle Glover — 11-year-old son of Usher‘s estranged wife Tameka Foster — is in critical condition in an Atlanta hospital after he was struck by someone riding a jet ski … TMZ has learned.

According to our sources, Glover was sitting in an inner tube on Lake Lanier when he was hit in the head. We’re told Glover was unresponsive when he was taken out of the water.

Our source say Glover remains unresponsive and is currently in critical condition.

We’re told that despite Usher’s acrimonious divorce from Foster, he chartered a plane for Tameka, who was out of town, to be by her son’s side.

Our sources say she was extremely thankful for Usher’s grand gesture and she rushed immediately to be by her son’s side.

Story developing … UPDATE:Usher’s 11-year-old stepson has been declared brain dead by doctors following the accident yesterday when he was struck by a jet ski … TMZ has learned.

According to our sources, Kyle Glover (son of Usher’s estranged wife Tameka Foster) has not experienced any brain activity since he was admitted to the hospital. We’re told there has been no decision yet as to whether or not to take him off life support.

Our sources say Usher arrived at the hospital last night and Tameka has not left the hospital since she got there.

As TMZ first reported, Kyle was struck in the head by passing jet ski while riding on an inner tube on Lake Lanier in Atlanta, GA.

The Department of Natural Resource in Atlanta is investigating the accident that left Kyle Glover, stepson of R&B star Usher in critical condition … an investigation which could take months to complete.

As TMZ first reported, the 11-year-old was struck in the head by a jet ski while riding in an inner tube on Lake Lanier. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and remains there in critical condition.

Robin Hill, a rep for the Department of Natural Resources (Wildlife Resources Division), tells TMZ the department’s Critical Incident Response Team will recreate the accident on the lake to help determine what happened. Using special computer programs, they will attempt to figure out how fast the boats were going at the time of the accident.

Hill says that rangers have been in touch with the driver of the jet ski and remain in contact with him. Once the department completes their investigation, they will turn their recommendation over to the district attorney who would then decide whether or not to file charges.

My general feeling on cheating, period, whether it’s a girl cheating on a guy—because they do—or vice versa is that I don’t really understand it. We live in a country where we can choose our mate so if you’re unhappy with your mate for whatever reason, then break up. It’s pretty simple. Cheating takes too much effort. You’re hiding and doing all kinds of crazy stuff. It’s just unnecessary and it’s extremely hurtful. It’s excruciating pain.

I’ll just say this: it wasn’t that I just experienced cheating with Usher because he and I never discussed that in detail. That wasn’t the first time I experienced cheating in a relationship. I’ve never cheated but I don’t know any woman on this planet who hasn’t experienced something like that, whether it’s cheating during the relationship or cheating during a breakup, which some people don’t consider cheating because you’re not technically together but you still haven’t really broken apart.

I think women are so afraid to talk about things with guys in fear of him leaving, but if he’s going to be afraid from having a conversation, then the hell with his ass! That doesn’t make any sense. I have every right to ask you questions, you have every right to ask me questions. Now if we want to give the answers, it’s up to us but there’s nothing wrong with that because how else will you find out? Read more

Usher’s wife recuperating from surgery

NEW YORK – A representative for Usher says the singer’s wife, Tameka Raymond, is recovering from surgery in Brazil. Publicist Simone Smalls says Raymond “is in stable condition after suffering complications from routine surgery in Brazil. Her husband Usher is with her at the hospital.”

No further details were provided. In her statement, Smalls says “the family requests privacy at this difficult time.”

Usher was supposed to be one of the performers at music mogul Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party Saturday night, but he had to back out for what Davis called a serious family illness.

The 30-year-old R&B star and his wife were married in August 2007. They have two young sons, 2-year-old Usher Raymond V and 2-month-old Naveid Ely Raymond.
