Mo’Nique Eldest Brother on Oprah Monday talks about molesting her….. read on and see preview of the show

Abuse lies among some of us and whether you admit to it or not someone you know or will know has been molested. Molestation is a form of child abuse in which an adult or older adolescent abuses a child for sexual stimulation. Forms of CSA include asking or pressuring a child to engage in sexual activities (regardless of the outcome), indecent exposure of the genitals to a child, displaying pornography to a child, actual sexual contact against a child, physical contact with the child’s genitals, viewing of the child’s genitalia without physical contact, or using a child to produce child pornography.

On the Monday (April 19) episode of ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show,’ the revered media maven will take the sexual-abusing sibling of Oscar winner Mo’Nique to task.

After serving 15 years in jail for another sex offense, Gerald Imes comes face to face with Winfrey during a climatic interview, which — according to a Harpo Productions spokesperson — Mo’Nique gave her blessings to.

Although the award-winning funnywoman doesn’t appear on the show, she has been very vocal about how her eldest brother sexually molested her during her childhood years. As a matter of fact, Mo’Nique said she channeled his demons when portraying the monster mother Mary Jones in the critically-acclaimed drama ‘Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire.’

Many may wonder why Mo’Nique was so passionate about this roll and could understand what Precious all over the world are going through.

This is the video and excerpts of the show below:

OPRAH: Before you heard Mo’Nique say that I was able to do that [her performance in “Precious”] because of the monster in my own life, my older brother, Gerald, did you — were you aware of the pain that you had caused her?

GERALD: No.

OPRAH: You were not aware.

GERALD: No.

OPRAH: What did you think that you had done?

GERALD: I accepted it as being the norm, to be quite honest with you, and let me explain to you why.

OPRAH: So you would abuse her regularly.

GERALD: Not regularly. I just — let’s put it this way. It happened more than I wanted it to.

OPRAH: Well, one time is too many.

GERALD: You’re right.

OPRAH: Mm-hmm. So did you when you were abusing her, did you tell her not to tell?

For decades, Imes has denied his sister’s claims. In the exclusive interview — he speaks out publicly for the first time.

Find out the last time he spoke with his sister and what he thought about her Academy Award-winning performance in ‘Precious.’

Mo’Nique’s estranged parents will also be challenged to discuss what they knew and what action they took regarding the molestation.
