Jennifer Hudson to Perform at Super Bowl

I have already told you about this, hope to see her make it there to perform. Hope she does not cancell on us. This what they are reporting:

Jennifer Hudson will sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl in Tampa, Fla. on Feb. 1, the NFL has confirmed. The performance will be her first return to the spotlight since the October murders of her mother, brother and nephew. Hudson, who had released her self-titled debut album shortly before the killings, is also scheduled to sing at the Grammys’ MusiCares event in Los Angeles a few days later, as reported by Eurweb.com. She is nominated for four awards at the Feb. 8 Grammy Awards. The former “American Idol” contestant hasn’t made a public appearance since her 57-year-old mother, Darnell Hudson Donerson; 29-year-old brother Jason Hudson; and 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, were slain in Chicago on October 24. Her estranged brother-in-law has been charged in the killings.

*She also suppose to sing at the academy awards along with Whitney Houston.

WHAT? Jennifer Hudson to sing at the Superbowl

This is just weird, she want sing at the inauguration but at the Superbowl. Now come on Jen this is a moment to really get people to forever remember you, if you would have sang at the inauguration. Superbowl is ok but if it was me who was asked to sing, I would have sang at the inauguration. Well check out the story The New York Times is reporting, now I posted a story yesterday saying Jen will not sing at the inauguration. Ms. Hudson will sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl, The Associated Press reported.This may or may not be true, who knows only time will tell.

Hudson fans around the world got excited when the New York Post reported that the “Idol” star was set to sing the “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the inauguration ceremony next week. However, her rep told “Access Hollywood,” “there is no truth to this.” We wonder which star or singing sensation will take her place instead.

“They are talking to Jennifer about it. It would be the first time she performed since the murders. She is from Chicago and a huge Obama supporter.” Hudson sang the national anthem at the Democratic National Convention in Denver in August. Her rep didn’t return calls.

Jennifer Hudson to begin filming video next week

NEW YORK (AP) — Jennifer Hudson is getting back to work.

The singer is set to begin filming a video next week for her single, “If This Isn’t Love,” according to her label, J Records.

Hudson was due to film the clip in Los Angeles when her mother, Darnell Hudson Donerson, and brother, Jason Hudson, were discovered shot to death in their Chicago home on the city’s South Side on Oct. 24. The body of her nephew, 7-year-old Julian King, was found in a sport utility vehicle three days later.

Hudson’s estranged brother-in-law, William Balfour, who is married to Hudson’s sister Julia, has been charged in the slayings. Prosecutors have said Balfour was upset Julia had been dating another man.

Hudson has been in seclusion since the killings. However, she has thanked the public for their support since the tragedy, and last week issued a statement after she was nominated for four Grammy awards, including best R&B album for her self-titled debut.

“It’s been a childhood dream of mine to release an album, so to receive four Grammy nominations is truly a blessing,” she said. “I am extremely honored and humbled by the nominations.”

Hudson — also an Academy Award-winning actress — was reaching a new career peak at the time of the killings. She had just released her first CD, and was also starring in the movie “The Secret Life of Bees.” She was featured in the summer blockbuster “Sex and the City” and sang the national anthem the night President-Elect Barack Obama accepted the Democratic presidential nomination in Denver.

She has recently been featured in ads for the Gap, but those images were shot well before the murders.

Jennifer Hudson Moves Forward With Ad Campaign

Los Angeles (E! Online) – Jennifer Hudson continues to mourn her family tragedy.

Still, the Gap has just launched its new holiday ad campaign, which features a cheery photo of Hudson smiling and wearing a bright red sweater.

While the timing may seem inappropriate, a rep for the clothing-store giant assures us that Hudson has given her blessing to use the image.

Hudson was given the option to back out, according to Gap spokesperson Olive Doyne. “She said she wanted to be a part of it and that we should move forward,” Doyne says.

Hudson was photographed for the ad by Michael Thompson back in July in New York City.

The ad, which includes the tagline “Shine Your Own Star,” can be seen in magazines and newspapers and on billboards in New York and Los Angeles.

Other celebs who participated in the campaign include Mary-Louise Parker, Mila Kunis, Milla Jovovich, Ashanti, Jason Bateman with his 21-month-old daughter Francesca, Jon Heder, Rainn Wilson, Cam Gigandet and Jon Hamm and girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt, among others.

The main suspect in the Hudson tragedy case William Balfour has been ordered to remain in custody after his parole hearing this morning. The judge says he definitely violated his parole due to actions supposedly unrelated to the Hudson tragedy, so he must remain in custody. Sources reported this weekend that Balfour may get out today because of a lack of evidence to hold him.As of now he’s not going no where.

CHICAGO — The convicted felon suspected in the killings of the mother, brother and nephew of singer Jennifer Hudson has a parole hearing Monday and could be released if an administrative officer finds no reason to hold him.

No one has been charged in the shootings, but authorities have called 27-year-old William Balfour a “person of interest.”

Balfour is in custody on a parole violation. He is the estranged husband of Julia Hudson, sister of the singer and actress.

The chairman of the Illinois Prisoner Review Board, Jorge Montes, says that if an administrative officer finds cause to continue holding Balfour, the case then would go to a review board for a hearing.
